It was a hot and sunny day for Rallyfest 2011 at the Royal Welsh Show Grounds Builth Wells.
The event was the official launch of the Wales Rally GB which will start on Thursday the 10th of November with the new super special stage at the great Orme toll road North Wales.
It also tied in with the Seven Vally national rally won by Will Onions and Dave Williams in their Ford Escort RS1800 followed by Julian Reynolds and Ian Oakey with a split of just 0.03 seconds over the course.
The event also showcased classic rally cars Like the Austin Metro 6R4 Group B car of the 1980’s and classic 70’s rear wheel rally cars by Triumph and Ford.
The day gave a real mix to both rally veterans and rally newbies alike and a flavor of the action yet to come later in the year when the WRC returns.
I would also like to say thank you to Aimee of Prover P.R for making it such a enjoyable day and also to the guys at Slowly Sideways and especially to Steven Rockingham for taking me out for a spin in his magnificent 1978 Group 4 Triumph TR7.
